About Sarah
I was born in Canada to a family of artists and storytellers. After a childhood that cultivated a deep love of art and story, I went on to study art history and architectural theory at the University of Toronto and later did post-graduate coursework in dress and textile history at the University of Glasgow. I’ve been blessed with opportunities to see many places, explore many museums, and read many of books that have stretched and grown me as an artist and a human being.
Drawing was always my first love. Captivated by pictures books from an early age, I’ve always been fascinated by the way an illustration can capture a story or moment in a way that is often even more effective than a photograph. My sketchbooks as a kid were filled with imaginary castles and princesses in elaborate ball gowns and in a lot of ways that hasn’t changed much. I’m still trying to chronicle all the images that flit through my mind, whether remembered or imagined.
Thanks for following along with me!
